This little Nissan comes fairly well-equipped with an AM/FM/CD audio system, variable intermittent windshield wipers, air-conditioning with filter, power trunk release, side curtain air-bags, active headrests (which move up and forward during a crash to help prevent whiplash), and a tire pressure monitor. The steering wheel adjusts for rake, but not reach. Still this is better than most fuel-sippers. The front bucket seats are comfortable, although leg support gives way after a couple of hours. (You’ll find anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution, and brake assist on the options list.) The electric power steering is nicely weighted, and the front disc/rear drum brakes perform without fuss. Grip is fairly good in corners, despite noticeable body lean. The Versa feels more substantial than its competition. Once underway, you’ll find the Versa’s road manners surprising for a Lilliputian.

If you’re more concerned with good gas mileage, opt for the CVT transmission (30 mpg city, 36 mpg highway) or the six-speed manual (30 mpg city, 34 mpg highway), not the four-speed automatic (28 mpg city, 36 mpg highway).
